Blessed Oats


These are no ordinary oats... A dash each of cream and whiskey turns an ordinary breakfast into a feast! 

To make the oats, for two:
In a pot, combine 1 cup of rolled oats, 2 1/4 cups of boiling water and pinch of salt. 
Stir over a medium heat until the oats start to bubble. Immediately turn the heat down to low. 
Stir over a low heat until the oats are creamy and soft (takes about 5 minutes).
Just before they are ready, add a dash of whiskey and a dash of fresh cream. Stir them into the oats and then serve. 
Pour a "moat" of milk around the edge of the bowl, and drizzle the oats with some badger-friendly honey. 
You can add fresh fruit too, if you like. I cute up a few figs today, but strawberries or blueberries go really well too.
